Setup Sheet

Comments / Notes

Car felt stable, jumping well considering the conditions, but the challenge of not having enough steering on entry to corners was frustrating.

It has been getting better with changes, including a lot made before this round for the outing, but it’s still not perfect.

The plan is to continue chasing that perfect corner entry over the next few outings to find a decent base setup for winter at NIMCC – when the track is greasy and it is fairly cold.

Proposed Next Outing Changes

The below are all additional changes which will hopefully encourage more initial entry steering and prevent the car from running wider in the corners at entry. Likely to remove some mid and exit steering from the corners, but that’s probably ok.

  • 20 Deg Casters
  • Lower front spring (Blue)
  • Inner shock position on from arms
  • Lower front shock oil (to match the rear)
  • Emulsion shocks
  • Shorten front and rear links from wide positions
  • Higher links
  • Shorter wheel base inc at the rear hub
  • 2mm less bump steer
